I provide a freelance copyediting and proofreading service for publishers.
I am able to work on:
- hard-copy manuscript using BSI (2005) symbols
- pdf documents using Adobe commenting tools
- Microsoft Office documents using tracked changes
My subject areas are the humanities and social sciences, with a specialism in law and government (including international law). I have a BA (Hons) in Law and worked in the civil law team of the Ministry of Justice until late 2016, where I copyedited and proofread a wide range of documents and publications. As a freelancer, I have worked on academic reference books, particularly for Oxford University Press and Taylor & Francis, as well as other non-fiction documents (such as pre-submission journal articles) for individual clients.
I am an Advanced Professional Member of (and trained by) the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (formerly the Society for Editors and Proofreaders), and am a native-British English speaker, with experience of working on text authored by non-native English speakers.
If you have any projects that would benefit from my knowledge and experience, or if you require any further information, please get in touch.
I look forward to discussing your requirements.
