Publishing

I provide a freelance copyediting and proofreading service for publishers.

I am able to work on:

hard-copy manuscript using BSI (2005) symbols
pdf documents using Adobe commenting tools
Microsoft Office documents using tracked changes

My subject areas are the humanities and social sciences, with a specialism in law and government (including international law). I have a BA (Hons) in Law and worked in the civil law team of the Ministry of Justice until late 2016, where I (co-)wrote, copyedited, and proofread a wide range of documents and publications. As a freelancer, I have worked on academic reference books, particularly for Oxford University Press, Taylor & Francis, and Edward Elgar, as well as other non-fiction documents (such as pre-submission journal articles) for individual clients.

I am an Advanced Professional Member of (and trained by) the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading, and am a British English speaker, with experience of working on text authored by those who do not have English as a primary language.
